In your eyes I see the sun climbing high over the distant hills.

We lie in the the flowers, thinking lovers' thoughts, staring at the sky.

In your laughter I heard the birds' songs, the crickets' trills.

I know that with you, hours like seconds, fade and fly.

Through the grass, under the canopied leaves of huddled trees

We chase and laugh, collapsing together on the cool, damp ground.

But you're as elusvie as the dandelion's fluff in a breath's breeze.

A minute of awe and wonder, you're lost as quickly as found.

In your voice, I hear the thunder rumbling over the distant hills.

I run from you, best I think, to seek shelter and run for cover.

But I'm drawn out into the open, seeking the storm's familiar thrills,

To embrace the wind, the rain and the lightening like a hopeless lover.

When the storm has spent its fury and light, dimly at first, seeps back in,

The flowers dazzle in wet prisms, bright, shimmering diamonds like tears.

I search your eyes to see if the sun is shining and warm again,

With a shiver, I take shelter in your arms and try to banish my fears.
