SKATING IN THE PARK

The wind whistles through the trees

and strangers whoosh past us

as we continue along on our path,

ice skates on our feet.

We glide along the glistening ice

making snarky comments about the obnoxious strangers

who are better skaters than us.

We step and glide, step and glide,

moving across the ice in middle of the park.

Every so happily holding on to each other

your arm through mine,

my hand on your forearm,

sometimes for balance

more times for connection.

We spend the evening skating

and people watching.

A simple evening,

a romantic evening,

an evening spent with each other.

Ceara, this is beautiful. I think that it speaks volumes on the importance of being oneself and loving who you are and are with, instead of worrying what others think. Thank you for sharing. Have a marvelous week.
