"'But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! . . . I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.'" (Galatians 2:17, 20, NKJV (https://www.bible.com/bible/114/gal.2.17,20.nkjv)

There is no doubt that we, as Christians, will from time-to-time fall into sin. Anyone who disputes that has fallen into the sin of pride, from which the fall is most perilous. Sin will occur but it must not be the hallmark of a Christian's life; we are not to dwell therein.

That's why addictions are, to the Christian, a form of idolatry. Anything which binds you to it is in essence an object of worship, hence those must be put aside. In our hearts, we must crucify those desires with Christ and allow His life to live through us. As He lives through us, righteousness will reign, our lives glorifying Him.
