IN THEE, I TAKE REFUGE: A GNOSTIC VERSION OF PSALM 16

Heal me, Aima
For in thee, I take refuge,
I said to my Mother,
"You are the only thing that matters, I have nothing good outside of you."
They who are holy for HER sake are the ones who are worthy of honor; all my pleasure is in them.

Those who run after the false god, ego, only multiply their sorrows;
To this angry and jealous god
I will not offer libations
Nor will I take its name on my lips.

Mer, my assigned portion, my cup:
you safeguard my share
A pleasant home has been measured out for me;
I am content with my heritage.

I thank you Sophia, my counselor;
at night my soul instructs me.
I always set Her before me;
With my First Mother embracing me, I can never be moved;
so my heart is glad, my whole being rejoices.

For you will not abandon me to the vultures, nor will you let your faith-ful daughter lose her self-worth.

You make me know the path of life; in your presence is unbounded joy,
in your eternal embrace, delight.

    Lovely piece! I have never heard of Gnostic Christianity, but I am intrigued. Thanks for sharing!
