He spent his adolescent years not knowing where he fit in. He tried playing sports, joining different clubs, and spending time in every clique throughout school. He felt out of place.

He finished his adolescent years, and moved onto young adulthood. College came. College life is a bit different. It's not quite defined by cliques, unlike high school and middle school. He still didnt have a real place where he felt he belonged, but it was easier to deal with.

He made some friends, they seemed to be a lot like him; not knowing exactly where they fit in. He felt more confident in himself.

When the college years finished, he was off to face the world. This was it. Time to get out there and show the world who he was. He walked into work, on the first day in his new career. And he told the world, "I am me."

What a sweet, short piece! Is this about yourself or is it microfiction? Either way, I enjoyed it.

Thank you. It's a bit of both. My journey to self discovery started similarly, but it took a little longer to get there, and took a slightly different way to reach that point.

True, in my experience there were far less than high school. In my personal experience, people just seemed to be more relaxed and more focused on studies. But this is coming from a school where the only fraternity or sorority were for nursing or honor societies.

This is beautiful. It definitely gets better. In our adulthood is when we evolved, and things get easier on understanding who you are and being able to be who you are.

Short and to the point I like it.

I never really fit into one specific clique either. It used to bother me in high school, but after that, it just seemed so irrelevant. This is a great piece! Thanks for sharing!

I like how you told a story about the adventure of discovering ones true self in such a short and precise way. Also, great ending. Thanks for sharing!
