A Deadly Profession

When I grow up, I wanna be an assassin
I want to take the magazine of thought bullets stocked in my head
And load them into my glock number 2 pencil to fire shots at the white institutional paper that tucked so many of my brothers into their final bed

I wanna take my platoon of stanzas and set up a writers block that stops the lies
And then use a sneak attack on the critics to disrupt enemy lines
I’ll drop metaphorical bombs of disparity on private prisons to expose the unchecked white crimes that snort white lines yet still get less than the black lives that no longer matter
I wanna take my diction dagger and slice the neck of Uncle Sam like he was a cadaver
And send his head to my editor in chief as message to let him know he’s no longer my master
I wanna slip in poisonous similes that create cracks in their foundation for power
I wanna write exposeitory essays that rain down on their heads like the crack shower in our neighborhoods that they used to keep most of us dead
I wanna fly palindromes over the White House to show whatever nigga that got in there is just a pawn
As I sit my army of prepositions backup by the masses of nouns on their front lawn
I wanna take action verbs against government agencies
And have my adverbs ready to modify my plans as a contingency
And when they try to use conjunctions in response to my radical assassination scenes
I’ll throw fragmentation to blow up any false unification schemes
Because I’m tired of my peoples subjacency
And how we get jailed instead of assessing our rehabilitation needs
How this country only handles situations with urgency when the other side is in a state of emergency
Tired of being looked at as lab rats being shot up with their capitalistic vaccines
So much oppression in our system that we got ptsd written in between our genes
A human race with different colors to symbolize for different teams
But I kept these words in my head so I wouldn’t expose my scheme
Because even nowadays I gotta worry if even my white professor is a friend or a fiend
