Hope is a strange invention

altering its state depending on the circumstances.

Rising like a hot air balloon,

hope expects a lot,

yet comes down like Netown's law.

Some hope is demolished by naysayers,

some hope held on to for dear life.

Some grow hope like a sunflower,

planted and watered,

nourished and fed by the sunlight,

growing tall and proud,

until its petals reach the sky.

Expectations may be crushed,

but at least hope existed in the mean time.
