She walks the streets alone tonight
The moon's shadow following behind
The veil from her wedding dress dragging over liquer bottles and cigarette butts
' I had to get out'
'But I just left everyone'
'It had to be done'
' I'm sure he hates me'
' I hope he does'
Her thoughts battling one another
The swords slashed away at her shame
It felt oddly purifying
Onward , she continued down the dark street. The veil bellows against the wind
Ahh the wind
Caressing her in a hug

I remember these childhood memories of being free and careless enough to walk the streets to go to the store to get something to eat for my mom, or even in college when I did the same for myself. Then you realize, it's the real world, and not everyone is as pleasant as you are. -

This is interesting. Seems like she got cold feet and realized this guy wasn't for her, and maybe he wasn't even a good guy after all, and then she battled her feelings of what she had done, and other people (family and friends) that she had hurt for this big event (Wedding), but then suddenly she felt comfort in making what she knew herself, what the right choice for her. Also, makes me think about different cultures arranged marriages, and how they're for everyone else but for the two to be married. -
The choices we make have to be for ourselves sometimes. Love the short attitude of this!
