bullets hit the back
of their heads
when i heard.
don't promise me your
prayers now dear,
not when
GOD HATES FAGS
& your religion
persecutes us over love.
allah akhbar is not
the battle cry,
the war is here
between heart&home,
the war is when
you accept death
& edge away when
the blood meets your feet;
even when it's the
blood of children.
maybe you didn't hold the gun,
but you are the trigger.
your words are the bullets
that killed us.

This hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm so saddened by the Pulse tragedy. It just goes to show how far humans have turned from the reflection of what God wanted us to be (loving). -

This is so raw and real, I love it. And it's so true, how can they just turn such a blind eye?
Thank you. It was honestly such a struggle to write at the time because there was so much hurt and anger. So many politicians expressed sorrow to the tragedy while actively voting against the rights of LGBT people and it all just felt like a sucker punch to the stomach. And people used it to push their anti-muslim agendas. Like, no, if you want to talk about it then religion in general can be the problem.
