Tejido de Punto

En vida tenemos nadamas

Un vez para ver un momento:

La sonrisa, va y viene con el viento;

El voz de Dios. La risa, además

Ningún daño a pegar, todo atrás.

Un pasado lleno de dolor. Siento

Pesada—se que en el contexto

De mi cuerpo no te oigo, pero la

Espíritu oigo, "Mi nieta querida" lo

Ensena mis manos, si me olvidaron,

Continuaran a tejer el primer,

La sonrisa que usted ha hecho

Con hilo que se reunido,

Y un voz que lleva notas de tu ser.

---Rough Translation---

In life we have

One chance to see a moment:

A smile comes and goes with the wind;

The voice of God. Laughter also

No discomfort remains, all left behind.

A past full of pain. I feel

Heavy--I know that in the context

Of my body I don't hear you, but the

Spirit hears you, "My beloved granddaughter" I

Show my hands, if they forget,

They will continue to weave the first,

The smile that you made

With gathered thread,

And a voice that carries the notes of your being.

    This is so beautiful. My grandmother also taught me how to knit so I really connected with this. Thank you for sharing!

      Thank you so much for reading and connecting with this poem. I love hearing about other people sharing special connections with their grandmothers. The time they invest with us is precious.
