It was a rainy afternoon in May and at this point I was already drenched from the rain. And my dumb ass self had forgotten to take the umbrella with me before I left my house. I was definitely going to get sick from this and I wasn't even halfway to my best friend's house. Shit, Thea was going to kick my ass for this knowing her.

As I got on the bus, my cell phone buzzed a few times in my front pocket which made me jump slightly and made my heart beat hard against my chest. I fumbled nervously as I fished it out of my pocket, thankfully I was able to answer it just in time.

"Hey Thea," my voice went soft as I grinned like an idiot.

"Elijah Wolf, where the hell are you?" Thea asked in a fake anger tone.

I knew she wasn't really mad but I was still slightly nervous nonetheless. "Babe, I'm on the bus now. I'm on my way don't worry."

Thea giggled indicating she wasn't really mad. "I figured, I was just teasing you El."

"Ha good one love," I teased as I let out a sigh of relief. "I should be there in fifteen-ish minutes, weather's pretty shitty."

"Yeah I know, please tell me that you were smart and brought an umbrella?" she asked with hope.

"No," I groaned in guilt. "My dumbass self forgot…"

"Lemme guess you're soaked?" Thea guessed, trying not to laugh.

"Yeah," I admitted in a low voice.

"My poor baby," Thea mocked. "Don't worry, I've got dry clothes for you here."

I sent up a silent prayer. "Thanks babes, you're the best."

"Uh huh," Thea mocked. "See you in fifteen wolf boy."

Before I could shoot back a comeback, Thea had already hung up on me. Damn her, I hated when she called me wolf boy...no that's a lie. I loved it when she called me by nicknames, it always made my heart skip a beat and I always got butterflies in my stomach. And there went my nerves going crazy, yeah there was no way in hell that I'm calm. Fifteen minutes went a lot faster than I had hoped but I was thankful considering my clothes were drenched. I pulled on the cable to stop the bus at the right place and got off on the corner of Thea's street. To my surprise and relief, Thea was standing there with an umbrella. My heart soared the moment I saw her, damn she looked so fucking perfect. Her dark red hair was up in a loose ponytail, her green-blue eyes were as bright as ever even brighter with the makeup she was wearing. I melted into a puddle, I almost couldn't move my feet.

"About time you got over here," Thea's voice brought me back into reality as she came closer with the umbrella.

I grinned like the lovesick idiot I am as I slipped my arm loosely around her waist. "Very funny love, good to see you too."

Thea was slightly shorter than me, so she had to stand on her toes to kiss my cheek as she leaned into me. "You know I'm just teasing you Elijah. It's good to see you, I've missed you like crazy."

"Missed you too love," I muttered as I pressed my lips on her forehead to show my affection.

We walked in perfect sync down the street towards Thea's house, there was silence between us but it wasn't awkward at all hell it never was. Finally we got to her house, comfort hit me instantly because I always felt at home whenever I came over. Thea opened the side door, walking through and I followed closely behind. And as soon as I walked inside the house, Thea's dog Ollie barked happily at me and wagged his tail.

I laughed as I bent down to pet him. "Hey Ollie, yes I missed you too boy."

Thea came from behind me, laughing, "he sure missed you."

I stood up smiling at her. "What can I say? I missed the furball, dogs just love me."

"Yeah, yeah plus your last name is Wolf so it makes sense," Thea teased.

"Really? Gonna go there now huh?" I quirked an eyebrow as I smiled evilly at her.

Fear reached Thea's eyes as she stammered, "n-no...come on Elijah, don't you dare."

I inched closer, wrapping my arm around her waist as I dropped my voice, "Oh? What're you gonna do about it baby girl?"

"Please Elijah," Thea begged.

I knew she was just playing but I still needed to have my fun. I wasn't going to waste the chance of putting her over my shoulder, how could I possibly pass that up? There was no way in hell I'd miss this. I had to get back at her somehow and this was the only way I could.

"Hmm since you asked oh so nicely," I thought out loud, trying to sound sincere about it.

Thea sighed with relief as she went to touch my chest but then remembered my shirt was soaked. But she looked up at me with a smile. "Thanks El."

Without saying a word, I put her over my shoulder and spun her around before running through the house which made her scream.

"Damn it Elijah! I hate you for this, you jackass!" Thea yelled but ended up laughing.

I stopped running, breathing heavily. "You gonna take back what you said then Gallagher?"

"Yes! Yes! Oh my God, put me down!" Thea screeched.

I walked over to the couch casually, pulling her off my shoulder and dropped her slowly with a proud grin on my face. "Thank you! That's all I wanted," I gloated as I sat beside her.

Thea smacked my chest, pouting. "You're such a jerk."

"Yeah but you still love me babe," I said in a sing-song voice, moving in closer.

"Ugh yeah whatever," Thea groaned, still pouting as she moved as well. "You better make up for that."

I gently stroked her face, lightly tracing her lips as our breathing hitched and everything moved in slow motion. Thea bit her lower lip nervously as my lips drew closer. We closed our eyes slowly whileI made the first move and kissed Thea gently. My heart was beating nervously as panic slightly followed, wondering if she was going to hate me for this but that went away when she kissed me back. We stayed like that for what seemed like forever until we pulled away for air, both of us had stupid smiles on our faces.

"About time," Thea spoke first.

"Yeah I know," I laughed as I kissed her again. "You're perfect for me Thea and I'm so in love with you."

Thea poked my side playfully. "I know dummy, I'm in love with you too."

We linked our fingers together and Thea leaned in to lay on me then pulled away, making a face.

"What?" I questioned with a confused look on my face.

"Your clothes are still soaked dumbass. Go change before you get sick," Thea pointed out as she shoved me off the couch.

I guess we had both forgotten that my clothes were still soaked, so I gave her one last kiss before going to change.

"Love you," I muttered against her lips.

"I love you too jerk," she smiled against my lips.

Yep this girl was for sure perfect for me and I knew I would have her for the rest of my life.
