DESPERATE PLEA

Darkness hurls forward at lightning speed
Colorscapes drain to faded gray
The cool air soothes my flaming skin
As I kneel down to pray.
I listen to the crickets sing
Hear the distant chime of bells
Look into the moonless sky
Hear the stories that it tells.
Cloaked in bitter heartbreak
Shoes are gray and worn
Old breath escapes my trembling lips
Tears fill my eyes once more.
My heart can see her beauty
Her brilliant bright green eyes
But Her smiles' a faded memory
She was my angel in disguise
My saving grace my steady hand
The only light I ever knew
She saw the good and loved the bad
Her heart was pure and true.
If God could only hear my cry
He'd send her back to me
So I scream into the darkness
God hear my desperate plea...

I like the rhyme scheme and the feeling of desolation

Thanks, I don't always do the rhyming thing but sometimes they just come out that way.
