Performance

I will step onto that stage and give a grand performance

I have to get up

 

Even though all I want, is to stay under the covers

I will dance across the stage in my finest dress and heels

To do this, I have no motivation for it

 

I have to scrape out the motivation with a knife

 

I will smile my brightest smile , despite all

I will bear the twists and turns of the knife

 

And the terrible pain of those wounds

I will finish to thunderous applause and cheers

 

They love me

And I will keep going

 

Putting a foot in front of the other

 

Always
