Confidence is an asset that can take you farther than you could ever imagine. It leads to success in friendships, relationships, business, further progress, and happiness. Do you have it? Does anyone have it? Or we all just faking it until we make it? No matter the situation, confidence can take you far, and there is no reason you shouldn’t feel confident in yourself. Here are some thoughts to pep up your spirit!

The first way to build your confidence is to start taking risks. It sounds scary at first, notably if you lack self-esteem. Think of it as a leap of faith towards a better lifestyle. Engage in activities you never thought you would be up to and don’t worry about the result. More often than not, engaging in risks with surprise you with the qualities you possess and your unique abilities. You will always surprise yourself when taking risks, either professional or personal!

I know it is hard to doubt yourself, but it is something everyone does, no matter how they portray themselves. Remind yourself that you are no different than anyone else; we are all human. For every doubtful thought that comes to your mind, place it by reminding yourself at least five things that make you special. You are unique, and no matter what that uniqueness comes from, it is a reason to remember that you shouldn’t compare yourself to anyone. Everyone lacks confidence, but people rarely take the time to fill that void. Only you can fill that void. So fill it will reason you stand out amongst others.

Most importantly, take all your daydreams and fantasies of success and visualize them. Ask yourself: who do I want to be? Then… what is holding me back from being that person? Odds are, what is holding you back, is less hard to overcome than you realize. Don’t give up on your dreams. Put work into them!

Overall, take time to work on your confidence. Take your dreams, ideas, recognition of your unique abilities and collect them into a vision of your best self. You will get there. We all struggle with this, but with hard work and consideration of the steps it takes to build your self-confidence, it will grow exponentially.

Take risks. Deny doubts. Affirm your abilities by reintroducing you to your best self. YOU CAN DO IT. It takes work. But more importantly, you are the one in charge of your confidence. And if all else fails… fake it til you make it! You’d be surprised by how far it will take you.

I hope these tips have helped you reconsider yourself as a strong, confident, wonderful person.

Emily, this is great advice. I know it to me 33 years of being my own worst enemy and critic to realize half of these words. After I began to understand that the only thing holding me back was me, I found my path a lot easier to traverse. Thank you for sharing.

This is key. We're all cut from the same cloth. We are all human. If one person was able to achieve something extraordinary, we all have that possibility (in our own form). Great advice as always Emily. Thanks for sharing!

One of my favorite questions is: If you could do anything you wanted, what would you do? It is just amazing how often the answer is quite simple and achievable.
