why is it so difficult to say i love you

he asks, looking down at her atop the slide. she waits at the bottom. feet are pushed up and head hanging toward the ground. the tresses of her hair scrape the dirt like worms.

i dunno she says. maybe its because its difficult to mean it.

the stars werent all too bright that night. They were hidden beneath wisping clouds and the branches of the trees crowded close. he scratched his head, hand buried in short brown bristles. it stuck up everywhere. she liked it.

it cant be that hard he said, frowning. she liked the creases lining his forehead, knocking his eyebrows.

she sat up, hair blowing back in the sudden movement. lithely she climbed the slide until she stood. her hands rested atop of his. only a metal bar separated them. his back to the safety of the platform and hers to the open air.

i love you.

he said nothing. she smiled sadly.

the stars still werent all too bright.

You are so right -- saying I love you is difficult because you have to mean it and if you don't mean it you'd better not say it.

i love you.he said nothing. she smiled sadly.
This is said, the disconnect with the world. It's so many people that are unable to say these words because they don't have the comfort of knowing what love really is, or trusting love.

Love story, I'm still figuring out bits of pieces of it. Interesting writing style.
