I been watching and learning
I been having a hard time getting back up
after life gave me a beating
now I don't know
with what it's worth
is that resume button
going to stop the hurting
I been seeing people live there happies days
whle i'm over here hearin that it's all a choice
you just have to tune out the the depressing noise
yet it's easirer said then done
Somedays I just want to run
Somedays I just want to burn in the sun
I been watching
I been learning
who would I be
when I stop putting others before me
who would I be
when happieness hits me
who would I be
when these chains come off of me
It's alwas been rainy days
and the earth decays
watch where you step cause life always finds a way
the acid cancer
is another factor
as everybody gathers
and the loners scatter
I learned love is a weapon
hate is another
a uinversal language which eventually sorts to violence
riots
at the end it's quiet
the reason it all begun was brocken trust
loners dont interact because they don't know
whats to come
if they relive the same cause of there troubles
which was,
love

THIS! When you open yourself up to love, you up yourself up to be hurt. Pain comes from love, most times. I also love these lines too: "who would I be, when I stop putting others before me, who would I be" My life. I just recently understood this about me, and learned that it's okay to be "selfish." Put yourself first. What you have overflowing, you can give, but if you're not fully fulfilled within self, not sacrifice your well-being to give what you don't have. Iyanla Vanzant said something similar to that before, which helped me learn. Great poem. -
I think creating is a great way to deal with this feeling you describe. So keep those poems flowing! Great poem!
