Give me peace,

From a place of cubes,

And sterile boxes.

Coated in phlegm

From the throats of chain smokers,

Too drunk to stand…

But sober enough to call the number

On an easy-girl flier.

Wives

Waiting

But not wondering

Where their salarymen are tonight.

Give me strength

To bear the heavy heads

Of children with eye circles

From long nights of books

Soon to turn to a headache

That comes from a bottle

Not from a shelf.

Wow. I'm half Korean and there are lots of habits and customs related to this lifestyle on that side of the family. A lot of them are starting to break away, but it took years and led to many problems. Thanks a lot for sharing this!

That's good to hear, all cultures have things don't they? Thanks for sharing your perspective from a more personal standpoint!

It's definitely interesting to see the differences in other cultures. We all focus on different aspects and it can be detrimental. Thanks for writing!

Interesting topic! I don't know much about Korean culture except that their food is delicious! Thanks for sharing your point-of-view.
