A brick wall

A brick wall

fortified with thorn covered roses,

a way to attempt to mask the outright aggression

that the thorns represent.

A brick wall

hiding the path that could lead somewhere

away from this place

where the fruits are not growing.

A brick wall

I desperately want to bring down

crashing onto the earth below

crushing the beguiling roses.

A brick wall

intended to keep us at bay

away from the goals we have

but is not indestructible.

A brick wall

that with force and strength

can be attacked and demolished

to reveal the path I've been searching for.

A brick wall

wrecked to make way

for the creative journey that is writing

and life.

A brick wall

that likes to come into play

at the worst of times

preventing the artistic process.

A brick wall

literally blocking writing

causing frustration and devastation

for the one it is preventing.

A brick wall

that will come down

to allow for the flow of words

no longer inhibiting the author.

A brick wall

no longer.

Ughh...writer's block is the worst! Great piece! Love the metaphors!
