Oh, if utopia could ever exist

It would be so bliss

But the easy is what thou above doesn't permiss

We must struggle and grind against the nail

Clock in, clock out

The 9-to-5 we hate; there is no doubt

Rode your bicycle down the street of your old childhood home

Realized none of your neighbors could resist

Everyone sought the world beyond

But couldn't keep the affairs in their own house in order

Couldn't even mow their own lawn

All the edgy kids headed down to Metropolis

To see and experience what they saw in magazines,

or online

They didn't pay any money

But bought into the hype

Like everyone back home

Still scraping by

They planned like urbanites

For a future they couldn't commit

to.
