The shift to older Ike in Smash4 also helped to differentiate him Marth. I really don't know why they made young Ike the default option in Ultimate (although I personally like his youthful design better).

Forum-style is honestly much better in some ways. I truly hate how smash information is now distributed in various WordPress threads in which you have to adhere to the ideal number of individuals to even get and you also can't get or read decent longform discussion. Searching for older info on twitter is also a massive pain in the buttocks.

I had been about when the Brawl dojo was something and recall a great deal of the parting from Brawl's hayday. The biggest turnaround for me has always been Subspace, it was broadly despised back in the day but today it seems hot.

People are always the exact same but the context changes. Back then, we did not have the background of nintendo and nintendo universes clashing because we do today. Back then folks will see both entirely different genres and also be hesitant about cross overs. Obviously we see it as ridiculous now but perhaps back then we would see it with care.

Something you'll notice very fast in the event that you seem is that it was never on the swords, they simply needed their sword fighter. The most obvious example is people pleading for Dante because he is a cool edgy character and setting down the sword fighters we all get since they're anime, which can be bad and lame because it's anime.

As a Dante supporter, I really dont like that he's the go to choice for everyone to phone a"swordfighter". Yes he's a sword, but it's not his only way of combating; he uses firearms, transforms into a demon, even includes a bike and guitar, etc.. He is far more diverse than every swordfighter we've gotten (such as Byleth, they tried and made her an actually unique fighter). For reference of how he functions in fighting games, look no farther than Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Just like 5 of his moves use the sword, all his various weapons have roughly equivalent usage. Dante is far beyond being a swordfighter, also could be a great and really distinctive character in Smash.

I believe the best example of the swordfighter double standard is Sora. He's among the most well-known requests all over the world, and he's a quintessential arcade sword boy.
