I just celebrated my 64th birthday. I decided to give my readers a glimpse into the person writing the various articles and poetry I have posted here. So here are 64 things about me. One for every year of my life...so far.

#1. My first name is Julie. It means "youthful". I hope I always feel that way

#2. My middle name is Ann. I was named after my maternal grandmother, Julianna. She was and still is my angel

#3. My favorite color is sky blue

#4. My astrological sign is Saggitarius, which fits me to a capital T

#5. My favorite carnivorous mammal is an otter. Out of all of the various species, I love them the most. They are my spirit animal. Playful and fiercely protective of their young

#6. I met my husband in my Junior year of high school. We have been married for 45 years

#7. If I had to choose my very last meal on earth it would be Filet Mignon, a loaded baked potato, asparagus tips, a well-aged Merlot, and tiramisu for dessert

#8. The strangest food I have ever eaten is frogs legs. They really did taste like chicken but looked totally bizarre on the plate

#9. My favorite snack is loaded nachos with pico de gallo

#10. A food I absolutely cannot stand would be sauerkraut, yuck

#11. If I had to choose between coffee, tea, or wine it would depend on what time of day it is

#12. My favorite fast food place is Portillos. Best chili dog EVER.

#13. I grew up in Inglewood, CA...home of the Forum where I saw my very first concert. The band Chicago on September 21, 1974

#14. I love to travel to places I have never been to before.

#15. The craziest travel experience I ever had was riding in a taxi cab in San Francisco. That driver was NUTS! I felt like I was reliving the car chase sequence from the film Bullet with Steve McQueen

#16. I was a model Girl Scout. I loved every experience I had and am very proud of all the badges I earned

#17. When I was a very young girl my favorite pastime was playing with Barbie dolls alongside my BFF. We are still friends to this day and on one of her birthdays I sent her one to honor those sweet memories we shared

#18. I collect wine bottles from various places I have been. Each one has a story that I love to tell anyone who wants to listen

#19. My favorite books to read are real-life stories of people who have overcome adversities. They inspire me. They are why I find comfort in writing

#20. My favorite author is Eckhart Tolle. He is my go-to Guru when I am feeling lost

#26. My favorite actress from the past is Katherine Hepburn. From the present, Meryl Streep

#27. My favorite film is Gone With The Wind. While it is NOT historically accurate in its depictions of slavery, I think it is a stunning period piece and has stood the test of time. It's 82 years old and counting...the character of Scarlett was way ahead of her time. Selfish, shrewd, and totally manipulative but knew who she was and made no apologies

#28. My musician crush will forever be Jon Bon Jovi...*sigh*

#29. My favorite song is "Your Song" by Elton John

#34. My guilty TV pleasure is watching soap operas. I know, I saw your eye roll. But these actors sometimes have to learn 80 pages of dialog in a day which has never ceased to amaze me and keeps me watching

#35. My favorite subject in school was English

#36. A chore I absolutely hated growing up was having to hang the clothes on the laundry line in the back of our house

#37. My dream job would be getting to work on a movie set doing whatever needed to be done

#38. My high school mascot was a Monsoon. Fitting for the trajectory that was the rest of my life

#40. My favorite season is Fall

#41. An irrational fear that I have is that I have never been good enough for other people. When I know in my soul that I damn well am more than good enough

#48. My favorite time of day is watching a sunrise while wondering what the day will bring

#60. I will never forget as a child watching the first moon landing. It was surreal

#61. My favorite quote by Khalil Gibran: "Love one another but make not a bond of love; let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls"

#62. If I could choose to live in any other era, it would be the 1940's. Because I adore the fashions

#63. If I could use one word to describe myself, it would be the word "resilience"

Well, there you have it. A little peek inside the person behind the written words...
