THE INNER VOICE OF A CAT

" Good morning," I hear my human say
All she understands is meow
I want breakfast.
She's speaking a lot of blah, blah, blah
All of a sudden the ground is far, far away
Put me down
I'm waiting
Oh, forget it
Ouch, that hurt the feet
I'm getting too fat for this
I'm getting breakfast
Down the stairs, I go
One, two, three...ugh
I step into a box of fresh smelling stuff
Scratch, scratch, scratch
I hear noise
Clattering into my bowl
Running...
Waddling across the floor
Looking up in defeat
One, two...ugh
These stairs kill me
I see heaven
The Couch
Measuring my jump
Curling up
Goodnight

Great poem! I like the fact that it's from the cat's perspective. Very creative Carrie!

I have three cats so I love idea of peering into their head. Good to know they're as simple as I always suspected. No complicated thoughts for these friends!

I hope that's the case , you never know what they are thinking. :)

This is a sweet poem! I love cats (and dogs), and I always wonder what they are thinking.

Thank you, Nina. I often wonder what my cat Colin is thinking too. Especially since he has only one eye and it is a very expressive one.
