LOVE

it’s diving skull first into an ocean

of blue scribbles

- on a buttery notepad.

it’s the suspension of disbelief that allows me to jump

from the page

- into a person’s mind.

it leaves scars.

it always holds us just a little hostage to its aroma or taste…

- or that fingertip sensation.

for me, it is the cloud of smoke in a bar circling my head

- hovering.

it is tacky wallpaper

and green stained glass.

pink curtains in kitchens.

- love is lopsided…

and it leaves an aftertaste.

"Buttery notepad." "Love is Lopsided and it leaves an after taste" Loved those two lines.

Jessica, this is great. I like your choice of words to describe love. I think we all have our own take on things, thanks for sharing yours.

I have never heard love described this way - sensual, cerebral, dreamy, tactile, with an aftertaste -- very nice.
